August 2018 – Broad core update with an emphasis on E-A-T (Expertise, Authority, Trust)

April 2018 – Similar to the March update, related to content relevance.

March 2018 – Core algorithm update continuing the emphasis on quality content.

March 2017 – ‘Fred’ update targets low-quality content.

February 2017 – Core algorithm update emphasizing content quality.

January 2017 – Results for sites with intrusive popups on mobile that hurt search experience were reduced in rankings.

September 2016 – Penguin Update emphasizes link quality and attempts to devalue link manipulation.  Read More here.

May 2016 – Mobile Friendly Update places increasing emphasis on the mobile experience of a website.

3/7/16 – Google Posts will be a new way to get your own brand feed directly into Google results. Currently, waitlist only.

6/7/15 – Create a slideshow right within YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/upload. See “create photo slideshow” on the right side.

5/21/15 – Google changes the name “Webmaster Tools” to “Google Search Console”
